Not if you’re seeing signs of readiness. Things like going off in a corner to pee, touching diaper front when peeing, being uncomfortable in a wet or soiled diaper and asking for a diaper change, waking up dry from nights and naps

Not at all! We started introducing the potty at 8 months, and she hasn't pooped in her diaper since then. She will pee, but she usually tells me when she needs to go and is always dry during naps :)

Ok thanks

Not too early! My son is out of diapers during his waking times and goes when we offer him the toilet, it’s taken about three months to get where he is but it’s been well worth it. I will send a podcast for the basic structure of what I followed for my kiddo.

The Oh Crap potty training book is really helpful for early potty training

Nope. A friend had their daughter potty training at 10 months as soon as she could walk! (It was an accident as they were training her toddler brother and she just followed suit) she was trained by her first birthday! (I SWEAR I know it sounds crazy but over seas they do it super early like that too!) just don’t try to force her. They can become apprehensive to the potty or even scared of it. (I was lead teacher in a 2 year old class for years! I’ve potty trained countless toddlers haha)

Nope!

How did y’all start the potty training process

@Amber I always took her when I went and just sat her on her little potty so she could see we're doing the same thing. She started peeing the very first time I ever sat her on her (8 months) so I kinda had it easy, I think

We have been introducing it in steps since she started walking. The first thing I did was put her poop from the diaper into the potty and had her flush. Now when we see her straining, we ask if she needs to go potty. She says "yeah" and runs to the bathroom. We put a toddler seat on the toilet and she sits. We sing songs. Sometimes she goes sometimes not. Then she wipes (tap tap" just in front. Then I take her off and she flushes while I actually wipe her. Then she uses a step to reach the sink. I turn the water on and she washes her hands.

I started with both of my kids at 8 months old......... so no its not too soon....... i recommend waiting for ready signs. My son was fully potty trained by 15 months old and never had an accident but my daughter is 18 months and although she has been sitting on the toilet since 8 months old she actually goes 30% of the time. Timers were my best friend and charting my daughter wet diaper time so i can try to catch it.
