Getting rid of the Pacifier

Son is still using the pacifier but we try taking it away as much as possible, what method did you use that worked for having your little one stop using it?

We just went cold turkey. He still gets it for naptime and bedtime but during the day he doesn't have it. It was a rough couple days but he adjusted pretty quick

We pretty much went cold turkey as well. She had bitten holes through it so we threw it in the garbage, blew a kiss, and said “buh bye” to it. She didn’t nap for a couple days without it but after that she was fine. I think 99% of the time it sounds scarier to do it than it actually is. You have to keep reminding them “it went buh bye remember?”

There is no easy way to do it I guess😅 I will definitely have to try! He mostly asks for it for comfort, like when he's upset or gets hurt 😭

We didn't intentionally go cold turkey but my son got a bad cold and couldn't breathe with the binky so he just didn't have the option of using it. We had 2 rough nights (though not sure how much of that was about the binky and how much was him being sick) and then no problems whatsoever. By time he got over his cold he was completely uninterested in it

@Jazmin maybe try for alternative things. Like a kiss for a boo-boo. Or something like that?

I've seen stuff on instagram where parents "plant" the paci in the front yard then the next morning there are lollipops or cake pops where the paci was

@Lauren me too! So cute!!!

My sister used the paci fairy and as she was coming on all three boys and when the pacifier fairy comes she takes the paci and it doesn't return she has to take the paci and move it on to another baby
