Bedtime routine changing

My girl just turned 2 and she used to go to bed easily on her own after rocking her for about 10-15 minutes. Then I would lay her in the crib and she would fall to sleep on her own, but recently she’s been hyped up before bedtime and doesn’t let me rock her anymore and is crying for me when I leave the room. I tried reading books prior and rubbing her back but she seems to want to play. With the time change, I also moved her bedtime back 20-30 min. She used to go to bed at 7 and now doesn’t get herself to sleep until 8-3 8:30 now. Anyone have suggestions or seeing this with their 2 year old?

My little one has been going through this for the past month or two. He wasn't falling asleep till 9:30 but we finally got him back to being asleep by 8/830. The only way I can get him to fall asleep in his room is if I lay beside his crib 😩

My kiddo has always laid in her crib for a bit before falling asleep. We have a star projector which helps us transition to bed well and keeps her pretty calm without us having to be in the room. She’s into stars so it was the reason my husband got it but they have some with animals and she finds it fun to sit and watch.

Our baby girl used to be ok with bedtime and just this week decided she wanted to play longer or have us tuck her in multiple times. We stick with the Ferber method (I think it's called that). Come in day it's bed time give a kiss and walk out. Let her cry 1-2 min. Repeat. Cry 3-4 min. Repeat. Cry 5-7 min. Repeat. Eventually they should go down on their own. Currently we never have to go past the first repeat.

We also really try to stick with a routine to help her wind down. Play a certain music playlist before bed while she is playing in her room. We give lots of heads up. "Ok honey, it's going to be bedtime soon. Daddy is going to read 2 books to you while you play. When he's done with the second book it's time to clean up and go to bed." We found it really helped her to have a "countdown" so to speak rather than suddenly (in her mind) saying it was time to stop playing and sleep.
