Clocks changing & bedtime

Incognito because I know I sound stupidšŸ˜‚ Iā€™ve always had problems adjusting to the clocks changing, it just absolutely baffles me for no reason whatsoever. But Iā€™m worried how itā€™s going to affect babyā€™s sleep and night time routine. My baby usually wakes up around 6am so now 7am although sheā€™s still asleep probably because she barely napped yesterdayšŸ™ƒ but we usually start our bedtime routine at 6pm which if we were to do that today itā€™s ā€œtechnicallyā€ 5pm? I know that itā€™s not but I canā€™t get that out of my head. I guess my question is would you adjust yourself and your routine to go 7-7 or would you try to adjust baby by getting them up an hour earlier and doing 6-6 so the night time routine still happens at the time it usually does on the clock. I just canā€™t shake the feeling that Iā€™m basically putting baby to bed at 5pm, thatā€™s absolutely absurd to me but I donā€™t want to mess up our routine. I guess 7-7 makes sense as that would be what baby is used to and maybe Iā€™m just being selfish because baby is usually down by 6:30 so I get more time in the evening 1 on 1 with my partner. Someone help me please, the clocks throw me every year and now thereā€™s a baby here itā€™s even worsešŸ˜‚ I know I sound ridiculous, and if any reads and even makes sense of what Iā€™m saying thatā€™s a win in my booksšŸ˜‚

Iā€™d keep it the same, sheā€™s sleeping a bit longer today so Iā€™d say that will help with adjusting to new time šŸ˜ I donā€™t plan on changing anything to our routine, just maybe will play and bath a little longer or have an extra nap somewhere. Iā€™m sure she will tell you when sheā€™s tired and you will just have to adjust xx

With my first we just carried on with the same time so if she was going to bed at 7 we would still do 7 the following day, unless she was showing signs of being tired then maybe a little earlier. I know some sleep people recommend moving things gradually in the lead up, just for when the clocks go back as baby will most likely be in more of a routine by that point. But again I've never changed anything myself x

The best thing to do to adjust them is to start the week before the clocks change. For going forwards start bedtime the Sunday before 15 minutes later so 6.15, do this for 3 days then go to 6.30 for 2 days, then 6.45 (Thurs & Friday) then 7pm Saturday which will then be 6pm on the Sunday. Now the clicks have changed youā€™ll need to do it the other way (as if clocks are going back) so 6.45 start for 2 days then 6.30 start for three days, 6.15 for 2 days then back to 6 by next weekend You wonā€™t need to worry too much with this change as they are still so small but by the next one it really does pay off the start ahead! X

I do nothing when the clocks change! I have a 3.5yr old and heā€™s always adjusted really well ā˜ŗļø you can either plan (but who is that organised), or just wing it for a few days and theyā€™ll soon adjust to the new time x
