Don't eat it anymore but you're probably fine, just drink some water and breathe mama

Literally been eating cold cuts my whole pregnancy and almost 32 weeks now haha

That makes me feel a loot better Nia! Thank you. It’s my first pregnancy. I’m only 6 weeks but can tell I’m going to be a super paranoid cautious pregnant lady 😂

You’re probably fine! You can only get listeria from it if it already had it, the chances of that are extremely low. For example how many times have you eaten deli meat in your life and gotten listeria? I would just avoid it from now on. Also if you heat up deli meat it’s safe, so if the pastrami was hot your safe.

Not gonna lie i had turkey sandwiches my entire pregnancy and i was fine. You should be fine o long as you got the meat from a trusted source that handles food properly. You can also heat the meat before consumption

no problem it’s literally something I couldn’t give up ! Being pregnant has made me crave them even more. Last night I had a turkey sandwich for dinner and I’ve been eating sandwiches at least once a week. There’s moms who can’t stop smoking literally my habit is deli meat

The NHS website just says to be careful with cured meats, it’s not even on the do not eat list so I think in moderation absolutely fine

Thank you so much everyone! Needed this reassurance!

I had a similar panic the other week and turns out you’re more at risk of listeria the in late pregnancy you are, so at these early stages you should be fine! Although I’m planning to avoid from now on just in case ✨💛

Yes, you are supposed to avoid deli meats. But the risk is still very small and if it was pre-packed pastrami (as opposed to from the deli counter) the risk is even smaller. Plus food standards in the UK tend to be higher than in the US (where a lot of the data comes from.) Try not to panic. But don’t eat anymore unless it’s cooked.
