Sleep training made baby afraid of crib

I tried the Pick Up Put Down method with my baby today, it was our second day doing it. She fell asleep 50 mins in yday. however today after half an hr she started screaming and crying so bad and I picked her up but she just wouldn’t be comforted, it took like 10 mins. Now I’m holding her and she’s so tired but she’s forcing her eyes open and anytime I go near the cot she starts screaming and crying I feel so awful, I don’t wanna put her in the cot after she’s asleep only for her to wake up in the middle of the night and think I’ve abandoned her there and to be scared Normally I put her into the cot drowsy and pat her bum and she falls asleep. I’m so confused abt what went wrong and what to do now 😭😭😭
