CMPA Rash or Baby Acne?
My 4 week old daughter was put on altamil pepti 1 last Wednesday after a trip to a&e because of blood in her poo and suspected CMPA. Not sure I’m seeing any difference, she’s still got blood in her poo and now she’s come out in this rash on her face. She seems a little bit more settled in herself and not crying the whole time she’s awake but she’s still clearly in discomfort. I think she’s now also suffering from silent reflux, when I mentioned this to the gp she said it was a CMPA symptom and will go once we’ve found the right formula. FfShall I contact the gp to get the milk changed?
Not sure whether this rash is due to her allergy or if it’s baby acne - does anyone have any cream recommendations at all please? Seems worse / angrier when she’s hot or crying.

It could be the soap you use to wash your sheets. Do not use soap that has dye in it
That does look a little bit like baby acne. My son had it all over his face and chest. I was told by doctors to avoid soaps for the first 2 months of life and just wash with water. I did that and soon his acne cleared up
Definitely get her checked over, don’t risk it with a rash 😊
Aptamil pepti is a hydrolysed formula, it still has milk in it. You need a amino acid formula
My daughter got something like this but on her body. I changed her laundry soap and bath soap. I also use hydrocortisone cream 2.5% and it got ride of it within days
which laundry and bath soap did you switch to please?
I use fairy non bio detergent and softener?
Baby acne ….they get it at this age it should go down in two weeks. It can spread to the hand and chest so don’t get to alarmed. It will or can get worse before getting better x
If you have breast milk saved ….use it it cleared my son up so good and takes the redness out of it

My son has CMPA we were first given SMA Althera which is a hydrolysed formula and was not helping
After fighting I finally got Neocate which has no milk and is amino acid based and he’s doing much better
Everyone had the opinion of not using soap etc etc which was bizarre to me personally
Go back to the Dr seek another Dr’s opinion if you have to but do not let go until you are fully satisfied
If she’s still got blood in her poo you might need to change to an amino acid dairy free formula such as SMA Alfamino, which is dairy, soya and coconut oil free. Neocate is dairy and soya free but coconut oil based. If you’ve been on Pepti since last week, and it was hydrolysed enough for her to tolerate, the blood should have stopped pretty instantly
Try some chamomile brew it like a tea and just wipe it down sigh cotton swab
