So I got a phone call today to tell me I have bacterial vaginosis (I’ve been using wayyyy too many bath bombs😂). I’ve been prescribe gel that goes up but I’m still scared as Google says it can cause low birthweight and preterm labour. Anyone else had experience with bacterial vaginosis while pregnant?

If the hospital have give it you it should be okay. Double check with the midwife if its okay to use. My doctor was hesitant on giving me antibiotics for viral infection weeks ago

my midwife says it’s fine to take, but the same happened to me a while ago when I was ill and they refused to give me anything. Just don’t understand how I can’t take antibiotics but I can put them up there😂

@Natalya It's contradicting isn't it 🤣 it should be fine but if you have issues with it call triage and explain what's going on and what you're taking and see what they say. They will probably check everything is okay

it is! Like you can put this up your floof but you can only take paracetamol😭😭 and I will do, knowing my luck I’ll end up being allergic or something, not looking forward to using it as I can’t even see down there anymore let alone trying to put a syringe in there😂😂

@Natalya I know it's madness ahha and yeah same it's like where has it gone I can't see it. Can barely reach to shave as well hahah the joys.

I’ve had it once while pregnant now and they had to call and tell me when I had some test done. I didn’t even know I had it because I had zero symptoms. I was prescribed an antibiotic but was hesitant and didn’t want to take it either. I decided to take the natural remedy route.
100% cranberry juice (not cocktail) raw is the best and also one cup of Greek yogurt plain in the AM and one cup at night. Did this for a week , got tested again and was all cleared up. I actually kept up this routine even til this day and it’s been great.

i was prescribed the metrogel because it was the only thing that’s safe in pregnancy

Fuk Google! When I had food poisoning Google told me I was going into labour at 28 weeks. !!
Don't trust Google. If the hospital or Ur GP give u meds 99% of the time, Ur ok to take it

Hey, I was prescribed the same & Im having some blood clogs in the morning. Did you experience any of this after doing the vaginal gel ?
