Is anyone experiencing wet knickers? I’m 35 weeks pregnant on Monday and have been experiencing wet knickers for about a month now I’ve been told it’s normal to have increased discharge. But literally just liquid with a weird smell. is this normal? Is anyone else experiencing this? I have a scan on Monday to see if my placenta has risen as it was low. I’m going to ask If they can test to see if it’s automatic fluid.
Please comment any helpful advice💖

Learn more about our guidelines. If you think it could be waters you need to call triage now they do a swab to see. I’ve been getting patches of wetness everyday now and i’m 34 weeks, i’ve had 3 prem babies due to waters going so i’ve been in twice to be tested once was a urine infection other time watery discharge, waters don’t smell or smell sweet like almonds, have no colour or are straw like in colour but if they are leaking you risk infections and other complications
I’ve had this for a while now !! I’m 36 weeks today and I had swabs go see if it was fluid but it wasn’t. I wear a pad now because my discharge has increased so much it feels uncomfortable I never use to have much before at all xxx
If it’s wet and there is a smell I would definitely go to triage, I went in only for wetness and they asked about a smell because if it is waters it just means they have to be careful that you don’t get an infection so better to go and get checked!
Currently in hospital for monitoring after waters went at 34+5, definitely get yourself up to assessment if you think it could be your waters, mine was a gush and then pretty persistent leaking but different for everyone! In hindsight I think I might have been leaking for a few days prior to going up because I had what I thought was an increase in watery discharge before the bigger loss of fluids!
I had the same and i was told that I'm in pre-term labour. Was kept in hospital for a weeks for monitoring and steroid injections. I'm 35 weeks and 4 days now and still not sign of baby. Ive been out of hospital for 2 days now. I would deffo go get checked out so that can do some swabs to see what's going on and give you the treatments needed xxx all the best
@SBee the exact same thing happened to me. Although my waters broke at 30 weeks 4d and I’m 34+4. Hope you’re feeling okay! x
If there is a smell, it's unlikely to be amniotic fluid as it is odourless, it is likely excess discharge as the amount you leak is insane the further along you get and it could also be a bit of pee as well. What sort of smell is it? Is it an ammonia type smell? I always thought it was my waters with my daughter but swabs were clear and midwives said the above to me to put me at ease.
It's best to get checked anyway if you're worried.
I was the same and I ignored it went for my 33 week growth scan and found out I actually lost a lot of amniotic fluid I’m now getting scans every week to check the levels of fluid and getting induced at 37 weeks. When they do the scan they’ll measure how much fluid you have whilst you’re there if you’re worried in the meantime I would go and phone the hospital they can do a swab to check if you have lost any fluid or not x
I’ve had wet knickers for about a month now and I’m 33 weeks. Have to wear panty liners. Not really thought much of it tbh…
It's pee! Well mine is anyway! Constantly having little leaks throughout the day!
