I had the lletz procedure done a number of years ago and when they scanned me at 16 weeks my cervix was 24mm and I had the cerclage placed the next morning. Not sure if they would do it immediately same day, mine was done in a theatre so they needed anaesthetist etc available.
Hi Hollie I had the procedure done 3 years ago. They checked my cervix at 4.5 months pregnant and I was measuring 31mm and they said not to have sex or exercise until next appointment in 7 weeks, j went back last week and my cervix is measuring 16mm ! They gave me the steroid injection for the babies lungs and told to rest as much as possible as if not, he’s likely be here by 34 weeks. You’re lucky enough to be before 24 weeks so they may recommend the stitch when I’m reading really helps many ladies go full term. I have another cervix check next week to see how my cervix is looking 🤞🏼 Hopefully get check you asap and everything works out for you and bubs xx
@Amy was baby okay? X
Hi Hollie. So I didn’t have a LEETZ procedure so I can’t speak to that but if they’re concerned about a short or incompetent cervix usually if they aren’t doing a preventative cerclage they track every 2 weeks with ultrasound until about 26 or 28 weeks. I do however have experience with an IC emergency happening while traveling. If you think you’re at risk for something I would recommend you reconsider traveling. I did not know I had IC and was having a healthy pregnancy up to that point. Having my IC emergency happen while abroad made everything so much worse. You should consider if your insurance would even cover you given you’re being followed for the condition and at risk due to your LEETZ, think about if you are comfortable getting medical care in the country you are going to and if you do go make sure you know where the closest hospital is with high risk OB because there is nothing worse than having an emergency and not even knowing where to go for help. Good luck!
