Had my 32 wk ultra sound and although she's measuring exactly at 32wks 1 day, she's only 3lbs and 15oz. I read and it says she should be a little over 4lbs. Is this okay?

This might sound dumb but how do y’all know what the baby weighs?

I’m 31 weeks and baby is measuring at 3lbs 6oz! She’s on the 30th centile xx

Yes that's okay! She's pretty much right where she should be :)

not dumb at all, I never even thought to ask them how they know 😂. I guess when they weigh the difference of your weight gain?

on the ultrasound, it says the weight xx

@Jayaa during your ultrasound the tech will tell you

Depends on your individualised growth chart. Everyone is different. That will be in your notes. X

mannn they didn’t tell us anything we even asked they said wait and never told us 😭

She's right where she's good to be. Depends where on percentile she is. But if she's growing n everything nothing to worry about. The online numbers are just an average

Adding that I believe ultrasound weight measurements can be off by 1lb/1.5lbs in either direction. They aren’t entirely accurate

Thanks ladies! I'm feeling better

@Rhea she's in the 26th percentile

Girl, mine was 3 pounds 2 oz at my 28-week appointment 😂 I'm terrified about the potential size of this child lol

Sounds like she is doing great! Don't fret! I'm having a boy and he measured 4lbs but he is in the 97th percentile 😬 girls are usually a pound or two less. Congrats on a baby girl 😻

The ultrasound tech told me yesterday that there is a pound variance in either direction so it’s only an estimate. So baby could actually weigh more than what the estimate is telling you!

There is only 16oz in a lb, so she is only 1oz from 4lb, no need to stress at all x

Girl my baby weighed 4 pounds 7oz last week and she was only 31 weeks. Your baby is doing just fine . I’m like please don’t let me have a 10’pounder but if I do I’m going to love my Chunk Chunk regardless🥰

@ 29w6d was 3lbs 2oz.

During an ultrasound, they take measurements from 4 parts of the baby, and after they put these measurements in to their computer, it gives an estimate of weight.

She's not far from 4 lbs, so she's perfect!
Also, at my last ultrasound, which was 27+3 my girl was 2 lbs 11 oz "give or take 6 oz",according to the sonographer.

She's only a couple of ounces off then, and those things aren't even all that accurate. I had them telling me that my baby boy was looking like he would be between 10 and 11 pounds at birth. He was 8 lbs and 12 oz AND he was a few days overdue.
