Hey! I’m looking for suggestions/clarification on dressing little one for sleep? I’ve heard the rule to do one more layer than you but am confused if that includes duvets and such? What do you dress your LO in and what temp do you keep in your home? Fleece or cotton jammies? Sleep sack tog? Thought I was doing pretty well throughout the winter but now with the weather changing from above and below room temp, I’m stuck.

We usually do a cotton onesie and then a cotton sleep sack. My guess would be tog 0.5 or 1.0. We keep our house around 20-22° during the summer. But sometimes he doesn’t sleep in a sleep sack at all and is totally fine too. We do not use any blankets as our little guy is only 6 months.
When we’re outside in the summer, we do not do an extra layer, but I will put him in a rash guard if I think it’s too hot and he’ll sweat his sunscreen off.

When I'm at home with air conditioning and keeping the house below 22 for nights I do a cotton onsie or footless jammies and a bamboo or muslin sleep sack .5 - 1 TOG. If we are at the lake with no AC it varies might start the night off with just a diaper and a muslin .5 TOG sleep sack if it's plus 30 like tonight and reassess midway through the night. If your unsure, try and let your baby sleep for 10-30 mins and then if you can feel their chest/head. If baby is sweaty - remove a layer, if they are chilly add a layer.
Edit: Baby is 6.5 months old

Definitely depends on your house and how the temp is. I have had nights when I had to redress/take things off. Good thing about babies is if they are uncomfortable they will definitely let you know. My daughter liked to be in a cotton onesie or just her diaper and a light sleep sack. My cousin's girls both run super hot she they slept in literally just diapers or they would get fevers. You will definitely know your baby and be able to tell after a bit. You're doing great.

It depends your house but also on your babies room - for example some room are hotter or cooler than other parts of the house.
We keep our house at 21 year round and our little dude seven months has slept in a long sleeve Cotten sleep gown (open at the bottom), and a 2.5 tog sleep sack. He has never woken up too hot or too cold in the winter, spring, or summer. We will be switching to onesies shortly and will use the same sleep sac. (We have used the same pj’s and tog sleep sack since birth)
