I use it like jess has explained, I take the rapid cool and a flask of boiling water out with me and put formula in those little tommee tippee pots. I got the boiling flask from amazon. It has a digital temperature display on top, so I know the water is hot enough. Xx
I use it as above, I found its the best and easiest way especially when you're out and about!
I use it the same way as the 3 ladies above and its been great. Depending on how long your LO goes between feeds, and assuming you use it as above, you could make multiple feeds whilst out. I think it advises leaving it 3 hours to cool between uses x
@Jess do you find doing the hot shot using 1 oz to sterilise the milk powder makes it all thick? Does it dissolve? My boy has 9 oz so I’m not sure 1 2 or even 3 oz would dissolve 9 scoops or is that not the purpose?
@Liz our LG has 8, sometimes 9oz and I’ve found that I only need about an oz for the powered to dissolve and once the rest of the water goes in, I just give it an extra swirl to be sure. It’s not thick either, same consistency of all other bottles. Better than the prep machine really, which we use at home, as it isn’t quite as bubbly x
@Jess we are doing this method too but finding it’s still too hot. Do you cool it down a bit before bub drinks it?
@Liz I up the oz left the bigger the feed so for a 9oz I would probably leave like 2.5-3oz. It’s just trial and error I think. Have you got a prep machine that you use at home? If so, I’d try the amount of oz that the prep machine leaves x
@Jessica I’ve only had this once when I didn’t fully know how to use the rapidcool and thought you only had to shake it once 😂 but my little boy is on reflux milk so I have to wait a few mins for it to thicken anyway and it always seems to be an ok temperature when he has it xx
@Jess think it was user error here too - seems to be ok now we know how to use it properly
Do you have a prep machine? I use it like the prep machine would make a bottle. I pour 7oz of boiling water into the bottle, then pour 6oz into the rapid cool and leave 1oz in the bottle as the “hot shot” to kill the germs etc. Then top the bottle up with the other 6oz out of the rapid cool. That way you don’t have to sterilise between bottles. Hope that makes sense xx
