Hard to find toddler friends

Is anyone else in the area finding it hard to make friends for your toddler? I live in chicopee and I haven't been able to find my 2 year old any friends (let alone myself). Unless I pay a ton of money I don't have on play groups it seems like I'll never be able to help him make friends his age. Free play spaces near me like parks or libraries are either always empty, don't have any kids his age or have parents keep there kids at a distance as to not get sick. I totally understand parents not wanting there kids getting sick, I'm just not sure where else to go for him to play with other toddlers. He's a pandemic baby so he's had pretty much no play time with other kids. I just feel so bad because his 2nd birthday party is on Saturday and he has no little friends coming, just adult family members. Is it just us? Am I doing something wrong?

Hi. No. I can’t find any friends for my 3 year old because 1. She’s on the spectrum and everyone stares at her cause her meltdowns and tantrums. It kinda sucks 😢

Hi! We just moved from MA to VA 😂 (saw your profile!) I had a hard time finding friends in MA for my 2 year old son also. We did do the drop in playgroups at the south Hadley family center right before we moved and he seemed to enjoy it! There was a lot of kids his age there, but you probably have to be pretty outgoing to connect with the parents. Everyone kinda seemed to be doing their own thing. 🙃 But there’s really not a whole lot of things to do up there and everyone I met on peanut was pretty flaky. I’ve had so much more luck in VA. 😅🤷🏻‍♀️ I wish you the best! It’s surprisingly so hard! 😆

@ Sabrina wish I was still in the area! Just remember, she’s perfect the way she is, and you’re doing a great job! The right people will stick around.

@Sabrina yeah, my boy kinda has a similar issue at times. Not officially diagnosed yet but the specialist we see think he might also be on the spectrum

@Sabrina my sister has 2 kids 5 and 3 years old one is almost non verbal and the other is undiagnosed autistic, we have the same problem getting them friends
