Bigger bed

So we are going to try little man’s nap in a queen bed and try for bedtime as well tonight. Baby girl is due in August and I want him to be out of his crib but kinda want to move him to a big bed instead of a toddler bed

Just an update. I just laid him down for his nap and sat in the chair like we always do and he was asleep within minutes! I should’ve moved him to a bigger bed a long time ago!

Mine is in a twin bed but I keep thinking I should have just started him in a full. Maybe when we have the next we can pass down the twin and get him a bigger one

@Joanna I’ve been debating on just putting him in a queen and honestly I think it’s what I should’ve done from the get go instead of trying a toddler bed. It may take up more room but it’ll be a lot easier on all of us. He puts himself to sleep but we have to sit with him. I think it’ll be better for him and me!

Mine still wakes up once or twice and I often have to nurse him back to sleep. Bigger bed would have been easier for that

@Joanna we rarely hold him to sleep anymore and I’m trying to get everyone out of holding him to sleep. He sleeps with his bluey toy and once he’s asleep he’s usually out for a little while. Bedtime he usually sleeps all night except every once in a while he will wake up and we have to go sit with him. He’s sick right now and isn’t sleeping well I more did this so I can just sleep with him because of working and being 6 months pregnant

I’m planning the same thing for my daughter! I’m thinking of putting up guard rails but otherwise having her in a full or Queen

@Rebecca I don’t think I’m gonna put bed rails up cause I want him to be able to get out of bed. But I do want him to sleep in a bigger bed

I would be scared of the fall. My son sleeps tooo crazy and moves sooo much ! So I have him n his crib

@Yamilet my son is just on a floor bed. The mattress is 6inches plus maybe 2 inches for the platform/slats.

They learn the edges of the mattress pretty quickly.

@Yamilet the mattress is really only in there right now incase I have to go lay with him because I can’t sit in the chair in his room for long or sleep in the chair due to being 6 months pregnant so If he goes into the bed tonight I will be sleeping beside him anyways. And he has actually climbed out of my mother-in-law’s bed which is way higher than his bed is now! I can be standing beside her bed and it comes up to my hips if not higher. I do have pillows beside the bed too just incase but he sleeps in one spot most of the time anyways. Especially if he’s got his bluey plushy. We are going to transition him into his bed soon though so that we can use the crib for our new baby and the queen is probably going to be a lot easier on both of us!
