Scared of slides, swings, and mini water parks

Hi ! So my son is 18 months old and he is fearful of slides , swings , and mini water parks / lakes/ rivers . He hates going down the slide and he hates being on the swing , he literally like stops breathing when he’s swinging . Anyone have similar experiences with their children ? I just want to know that he’s going to outgrow this stage of his life and enjoy these things as he gets older !

My baby witnessed a four year old get knocked over by the bucket of water and now he cries if he even sees a water park 😬

The outdoors may just be a little overstimulating for him right now. I think he'll outgrew it.

Sounds like he has some anxiety to those things. Unfortunately until they can communicate why they're scared, we gotta just take their lead until they're ready. My little guy has anxiety when it comes to new stuff too. Hates the swing. Just started on the slide. I modeled it several times by myself and ultimately it wasn't until he saw kids his size use the slide and enjoy it did he get interested. They're learning so much new stuff, even the fun stuff can look intimidating. Hang in there, momma. You're doing great!

My daughter is 18 months and just got comfortable with the slide but she’s also terrified of swings, even if we hold her while we swing. I think it’s just a lot for them to process right now.
