Porridge & pouches

Hey, Looking at giving my baby baby porridge in the mornings, I know you need to mix it with some of his milk but do you then give him the rest of the bottle after? So my boy is on 7-8oz bottles, just wondering if I actually need to make that amount up because he will have the rest after porridge? When giving pouches or mashed up veg (that we’ve cooked ourselves), is it the same time as you would normally do bottle, and then give bottle as well? Or just pouches. Sorry feel absolutely clueless and stupid to ask family 😔

From what I know especially at the beginning you should give bottle first and then give food about one hour after when they are full. Food is only a sensory experience at first and it can be quite difficult for them to process if they are hungry.. you can then start giving food first after 2-3 weeks when they will be more confident having it :)

What I do is give my daughter her bottle in the morning and then I’ll give her some porridge about 1.5 hours later or so. She usually doesn’t finish all her bottles now due to teething but it works for us.

Thank you ladies, yes that makes sense. Don’t want to upset him by trying something other than bottle when he’s hungry xxx
