Baby sleep routine

My 5 wk old still has around 1 to 1 and half wake windows during the day

I'm having the same problem with my 5 week old ☹️ I try everything to stick to the 1 hour wake windows (rocking, shushing, dummies, white noise etc.) but she really fights sleep. Sometimes she's up for 4 hours at a time and then screams the place down due to being over tired!

@Laura have you tried swaddling..mine was fussy a few days and i realised its her own hands that startled and woke her and encouraged more and more fidgeting and wiggling

@Laura that is exactly what my son is doing at the moment. We are currently trying to settle him to sleep. Have fed him and put him into a sleep bag but he's not having any of it at the moment x

Try take him for a walk, with current weather when my is struggling to sleep we take him out for a walk to the park and at least he sleeps in for and hour or two x

My LO is almost 5 weeks and we're having the same problem. What helps us for naps is swaddling, white noise, rocking chair, and black out curtains. The black out curtains and swaddle are the main things that helped!

I think 5 weeks was when our son started to want to contact nap! I would either baby wear him and go for a walk where he would fall asleep or I would feed him and then let him lie on me after in the rocking chair and let him sleep there Usually during the day I’d bounce him for 10-15min, sit in the rocking chair with him sleeping on me for30 and then try my luck putting him in the crib

How strange that we are all having this issue at 5 weeks. I have found the daytimes when I am on my own really tiring because our LO hasn’t been sleeping much during the day. He will only sleep if he is on me. If I try to put him down at all he wakes up straight away or after a few minutes and cries. At night he sleeps well - for around 3-4 hours at a time. X

I was having the same problem so today I moved her Moses basket to her nursery where it’s dark and put white noise on and seems to be working 🤞 if I want to get anything done I have to put her in the carrier

Same issue here 🙋🏻‍♀️ my little girl is 5 weeks too

Nope not working so ignore me but baby working has worked!

It must be something about the 5 week mark. Today we have had a better day but let's see what the night brings
