Is anyone else suffering so bad with heyfever?!
I haven’t been taking any antihistamines as I have no idea which ones are safe. I’m 20 weeks. Can anyone suggest anything? X

I've been taking benedeyl (cetirizine dihydrochloride) as I heard that's fine. I think it's worse for the baby to be suffering super badly with hayfever, not breathing well and immune system in overload so think it's about weighing up any risks

So bad and I never normally get it! I was told avoid if possible as there's not much research into antihistamine in pregnancy but to take loratadine if I have to as there's isore research into that one than others 🤷🏼♀️

I was prescribed chlorpheniramine maleate (medical name for Piriton) but they didn't work great, went back to Dr's after trying them for 8 days and he then prescribed Loratidine (10mg) and some eye drops and fingers crossed it is much better.
It is very high atm so even people who don't suffer are experiencing it xx

I've always had Hayfever and mines horrendous now I'm pregnant too, my sister is a nurse and checked the computer pharmacology system and they warn against all, but I've done some digging and I think it's to be safe because they don't have enough research to say whether it has any effect on babies.
I've been taking piriton as my Gp said they were safe. I read leaflets for all and the only one that is warned against is loratadine, I've been taking piriton and citirizine since 10 weeks and my baby was healthy at 17 weeks. It's hard because everyone is different obviously with past medical history, but I think if you're really struggling it's advised to take them. X

see the Dr I saw checked the BNF and said the only approved one was loratadine 🤔 I swear we've all been told different

Yes very confusing, any Google search I do seems to say over the counter ones are all fine as far as they know.. if anything was terrible we'd know about it. Like most of you say sounds like loratadine is the most commonly known to be safe so far so think I'm going to swap to that on days I really need it.

My GP and pharmacist recommended loretadine, but try to only take it when really needed. Currently if I don't, I can barely function so been taking it. Hoping the pollen count goes down because it really is miserable 🤦🏻♀️

I’ve never had it before but I am struggling bad!!! I can’t breath, and when I sneeze I need a wee 😂 I’m going to speak to my midwife next week to see what I can take as many over the counter stuff says pregnant women can’t take it x

The Dr said to me if Loratidine doesn't work we can try cetrizine so tbh I think all 3
Prition
Loratidine
Cetrizine
Must all be safe to some degree but I wanted it to be prescribed as then you know a GP has said it is okay to take as pharmacies don't like to sell them without a prescription as there licenses mean they normally can't sell to a pregnant lady and i was refused in person when i said i was pregnant (this was said to me by the pharmacy after I rang 111 for advise and referred to my local Asda pharmacy as midwife didn't know and said go through gp but they were closed) xx

So bad this year never had it like this, pharmacist gave me citrizine and some eye drops.

I’ve been on fexofenadine hydrochloride and nose spray prescribed from the doctors since I was little. That works a treat. X

I have horrendous hayfever. I spoke to my doctor this afternoon who told me I can take loratadine or Benadryl alongside beconase nasal spray. I had no idea you could take beconase whilst pregnant so will be trying this from tomorrow as the hayfever nasal congestion is really disrupting my sleep! You can’t take any sudofed products whilst pregnant.
