Pethidine injection site?

Had anyone who has had their bubba’s had the pethidine injection during labour? The site of the injection on my leg still throbs, especially when I’m bending my leg and just wondering if this is normal or not? I get a sharp pain shoot through my leg that starts where the injection went it and I have to stop and breathe before moving again. I’m 10 days PP and just not sure whether I should be concerned or not. I have the health visitor coming out tomorrow so will ask then but wanted to hear everyone’s experiences with it 🌟

I had mine in my arm and it was hugely swollen and bruised for days but no pain like that..however I recognise it was a different place on the body. Id definitely mention it x

I’ve just seen your post because I was searching ‘pethidine’ for the same reason as you wrote about! Did you get it checked at all? I had the pethidine injection at one point during my labour (4 weeks ago this Friday) and now when I bend that leg to sit so my legs are under me (like when giving baby a bath and sitting by the side of the bath) I get such a bad pain I have to stretch my leg out. Wondering if it’s worth getting checked or it’s just one of those things 🙄😅

@Phillippa they couldn’t really give me an answer and just told me to keep an eye. I’m 4 weeks and 4 days PP and still getting the pain. I also can’t sit in certain positions because I get a pulling and shooting pain through my leg xx
