Snoozeshade- overheating?

Hi all. I'm looking for something to help keep baby shaded in the stroller part of the pram, as the hood doesn't quite cover everything. I've heard that you should use a damp muslin, but this is difficult to keep in place. Considering a snoozeshade, but doesn't this just trap the heat in with baby? Worried about overheating!

You shouldn’t use a muslin or blanket. Snoozes shade is recommended as they regulate the temperature properly

Im with you on this! I cant see how the snoozeshade can be cool inside if for example there is no wind to circulate air. Surely its not much different to a tent getting warm with no breeze🤷🏽‍♀️

• SnoozeShade is made from air-permeable mesh that has lots of small holes that allow fresh air to circulate easily
• SnoozeShade’s fabric has been tested multiple times by well-respected, independent laboratories and scores highly for air permeability
• Black is the best colour for UV protection, as it blocks the most UV rays without needing any chemically treatment To find out more about how SnoozeShade’s fabric keeps your baby protected and happy, read this piece where we were helped by one of the UK’s leading thermal physicists to explain the science behind the colour versus heat question.

There's not much we can do about humidity levels, so by shading baby you’re doing the most you can towards reducing heat stroke (other than going inside to a cooler spot which isn’t always possible).

Regarding temperature, my fabric is a scientifically proven air-permeable mesh – this means air passes through it very easily.  The only way heat can build up is if it’s trapped.  Air cannot be trapped by my mesh.

If it’s a hot day, my products won't significantly reduce temperature (although parents report it’s usually 1-2 degrees cooler inside) - so be prepared that if it’s hot outside then it will be hot in the pram. Ensure your little one is well-hydrated and checked on regularly.

I've got a snooze shade second hand and it's definitely mesh and definitely breathable, plus air flows in the sides under the shade. Baby stayed nice and cool

I just use a parasol to make sure baby is full ly in the shade, seems to work ok

I have a snooze shade and love it! It is breathable but I usually don’t fully tie it up on the sides of the carrycot so baby can still see out to the left and right corners and of course allows more air if that was a concern. They also have a zip on which I like to keep open so I can see my baby.

For labour I bought this handheld fan with bendy legs that can wrap around stuff. So I put on the snoozeshade and inside I have that fan pointed away from baby and turned on to keep air moving. I think it's the best solution I have found with this heat tbh and I check on him very regularly and keep the top zip open for extra air flow

I use a snooze-shade and a little pram fan

We have a stroller sunshade form John Lewis and it doesn’t seem to heat up underneath - we’ve been using it for weeks. We have just bought a little fan to keep the little guy cooler in the heat though generally as well.
