How many ML or Ounces of Milk do you produce?

Hello Mamas. I'm currently on my 6th week. I wanna know how everyone is producing. And maybe give tips 😊😊😊

If I am pumping every 2 hours I will get about 3oz. If I go longer I will get like 5oz. That’s total from both boobs.

I pump an avg of 6.6oz per 5-10 minute session. I only pump whenever I miss a nursing session. I think I am an overproducer because my flow and letdown is really strong and it makes it hard for my baby to nurse. Tips to help with that: feeding baby while reclined and laying him on top of me to work against gravity + using a Haakaa to catch the letdown and then once the flow slows, give breast to baby. Things I think help me have a large supply: fennel + cinnamon tea (just boil fennel and cinnamon in a pot), staying warm, drinking warm liquids, soups, broths. Drinking lots of water

@Nicole Thank youu Nicole for sharing I appreciate it. I get about 2oz sometimes 3oz if i'm lucky. When can we produce more? Like they said 3-4oz per boob

@Daisy I wish I knew! I try to drink at least 120oz of water a day and I eat plenty of calories and I try to pump every 2-3 hours and my supply is still not producing enough to feed my baby.

@Tamara how much water are you taking everyday? Woah. I havent tried fennel and cinnamon. I think you are an overproducer. I'm so jealous. I will going back to work soon. I need that kind of milk production

Also I am 10.5 weeks postpartum. I had my baby early in April but I didn’t feel like it was necessary to leave this group lol.

I actually don’t know how much water I drink! I just know I have to constantly refill my water bottle and I get so thirsty. I’ll keep track of how much I drink tomorrow and let you know!

I pump around 15oz a day plus whatever she eats, she eats on demand now. I am actively trying not to pump too often because I have too much milk. So I only pump when engorged or before a feed so the letdown isn’t so strong. If you want to increase supply: raw oats, flaxseed meal, hemp seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, banana or raisins etc. and milk of your choice. Thats been my go-to breakfast but I am avoiding it now.

Also, there are regional Facebook groups called Human Milk 4 Human Babies. People donate and request breastmilk there. If you’re going back to work soon, I would recommend going on there to get some milk to supplement while you build your supply up!

Ooh I just remembered— they say oatmeal helps increase milk production too. I don’t eat a ton of oatmeal nowadays, but I did eat a bowl of oatmeal nearly every single day when I was pregnant— I don’t know if that affected my supply or not

I started off a bit slow on my supply but I started drinking body armors (contains coconut water) and I also hear some people just coconut water straight. Also lots of cranberry juices. I truly believe that helped my supply a lot! My son is 15 months and I am still breastfeeding him. I also really suggest getting a manual pump. Manually pumping helping me tremendously! I only used a manual pump actually and I would pump at the beginning anytime he wasn’t feeding for about 10mins just to keep my supply coming in! Hope this helps 🫶🏼

@Nicole are you supplementing? Cause sometimes 90mL is not enough for my 6 week old baby

@Tamara thank you for your effort 🙏🏼

@Haley i'm taking oats, flaxseed, chia seeds, banana, and 3 glasses of milk a day, coconut water, lactation cookies. And i still produce 1-3oz everytime i pump post or pre breastfeed

@Byanka thank you for your recommendation. What manual pump do you use?

@Daisy yes, I give him about 6-8oz of formula a day. I use Kendamil formula and I usually mix it with breastmilk in a bottle.

@Nicole how many oz of breastmilk he usually takes in a day?

@Daisy I honestly don’t know for sure because I nurse him before bed and during the night and I don’t really keep track of the bottles I give him. I think I gave him 5 bottles today with about 3oz of breastmilk in each.

@Nicole thank you. It's so hard to say if we're giving enough to the little one. Especially soon im going to work

@Daisy I also am like you and only made about what you make but felt so discouraged reading everyone's over production. I started supplementing with kendamil and I am glad I did. I also tried everything you said you ate. Nothing made a big difference.

@Anu i kinda accepted already that i'm gonna do both breastmilk and supplement. There's nothing I can do if I did my best already. But in still open to advices. Just to make sure that I tried everything
