I breastfed and gave powder from the beginning so idk everything but with formulas , one might not suit them but another will, it’s really just trial and error. I boil her water and keep it in a water pitcher, I boil when it’s almost empty. I usually fill her bottles with the recommended powder and then add bottled water or use the ready to feed bottles when out
Sorry not recommended, I’m tired lol- I meant whatever oz she takes in one go and then add the required water
1. I transitioned cold turkey for my LO and he was fine. 2. Boil water and let ur cool if you have something to keep the water in like a pitcher and use as needed. 3. I use the formula dispenser many companies make it. It has 3 compartments for easy pouring when out. I also have a container that is meant for formula you can find on Amazon that I use if it’s a longer day and I need more than 3 bottles. Any stainless steel flask works . 4. I do not recommend adding formula first and then water because it does mess up with your water to formula ratio that is directed by the company.
@Alex when you say 20 ish a day, do you mean I mix it in the ready feed? I'm moving brands too. So confused about this. Sorry if it's a silly question
That's ok! So for example if we were doing a 4 oz bottle, we'd do 3 oz of the ready feed then the rest of the formula mixture. Do that for a few days then 2 oz of each for a few days, then 3 oz of the formula mixture and 1 oz of the ready made stuff
@Alex makes sense. Thanks so much ❤️
1. I did it gradually over the course of a week. 20 ish % a day of the new vs old. 2. I've been using distilled water so can't comment on that from personal experience, but I don't see why that couldn't work. 3. We use the Philips Avent powder formula dispenser and it's amazing. 3 compartments make for easy prep and go. I have multiple so if I need more than 3 bottles, I'm good. They're also super inexpensive. 4. If you find your little one isn't tolerating the new formula well, don't panic. The consistency of the powder isn't the same as the ready made and it takes a bit of an adjustment. Just go back to the day before ratio and try again at the next bottle. Best of luck mama!
