Hi ladies, this is my second chemical pregnancies in a row. The first one was gone in 3 days (HCG started at 12.4 and 48 hours later HCG was 3.5). This time HCG started at 15.9 (Monday) but increased to 49.6 (Wednesday) and then only to 75 (Friday). I’m having HCG blood test again tomorrow (Monday) but the line was lighter this morning (Sunday) than Friday so I don’t have any hope.
This was my 5th transfer (all blastocyst and good grades but because I’m 31 my clinic didn’t recommend to do PGT-A testing due to cost). I’m under steroids, blood thinner, hydroxychloroquine, progesterone, oestrogen…
Any success stories after so many failed transfer/chemical pregnancies? We also put 2 embryos the last 2 transfers and would be surprised that all 4 of embryos were not viable 😩 we used 7 embryos in total (we were lucky to had 13 blastocysts)
Any recommendations/support/success stories appreciated 🌈🙏🏻 I’m losing faith and hope and feel it will never happen 😩

So sorry to hear that you are going through this! I’m following too::: looking for a positive story. We are embarking into ivf journey after 6 miscarriages within 12 months of trying. Also loosing hope & feeling very down! Praying we get our rainbow baby soon and you get yours too 💗💗💗💗xxxxx

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss can’t imagine how devastating this all is… have you done any investigations for the miscarriages? Sending you lots of baby dust your way 🌈🤍🩵🩷

I have had so many tests but there are sadly no answers! I have my amh test coming up and hystescopy to finalise my testing and start ivf xxx

Hope IVF would be successful and maybe give you some answers! Same I did so many: hysteroscopy, ERA, EMMA and Alice tests, blood clotting, NK cells…
Wishing you all the best 🙏🏻🌈🤍

So sorry to hear your loss! What’s your AMH? We did 6 transfers before this current pregnancy, and after 3 miscarriages & 1 chemical we decided we wanted more info so opted for PGT testing. The first normal one that we transferred resulted a pregnancy an i am now 10 weeks! Our lucky 7 hopefully ❤️ Even if PGT doesn’t guarantee anything it simply tells you something more about possible factors (embryo or uterine) so it’s still worth considering!

Hi Wanyu, did you do another round and test or did you thaw the embryos you have and test them? I have a low AMH, is that the same reason as yourself?

@wanyu thank you and congratulations! I know the rollercoaster of this journey and you went through lots.
I would never thought not to be happy to have positive pregnancy tests… 😩
My AMH is 15. Not amazing but still decent from my understanding. We had blood tests done for caryotype (waiting for results). Not the same as PGT testing but hope we’ll learn something. If not, we’ll look into PGT testing I guess as it would be the only test we haven’t done.

we had 3 embryos each from the first 2 ivf cycles so it was a fresh 3rd cycle - I heard that it’s not a good idea to test already frozen embryos. My AMH was 10 which wasn’t low for my age (40), but I am asking because low AMH is correlated with low embryo quality and more reason to consider PGT!

because I’m 31 with 15 AMH the clinic advised us not to go it. I’ve done my HCG this morning to confirm it’s another chemical. Let’s see what the doctor recommends this time…

Sounds like embryo quality is the only possible explanation as you have done all the tests & your clinic has put you on all possible supplements! I’m also on steroids, blood thinner etc - just some thoughts:
1) Perhaps discuss with your clinic to try a different protocol (say natural with trigger?) as in my case I have done all 3, regulated, natural, and natural with trigger and found that my body felt differently and the last one was the best! You may have tried all these too.
2) My clinic added intralipid to this cycle - after my immunological report showed some minor issues on something that I cannot remember (not NK). Perhaps discuss with your doctor about this too.

we ended up with 6 embryos but didn’t test them either due to our age. Our clinic has very good success rates in the lab and with freezing/thawing/re testing embryos so I’m sure they would not recommend to do something that was not a good idea!
Did you take any vitamins before your cycles? DHEA? Coq10?

Oh and one more thing: my doctor told me he would never recommend transferring 2 embryos because there is a chance that if one goes, it would take the other with it! Some people do get lucky when one sticks (if implantation site is a bit far from the other or if the other never made it to implant) but this risk is still there!

Thank you so much for your support I don’t have my periods so natural cycle is not possible for me 😩
I think I’ve done only the NK cells - not immunology test. Do you remember what you tested for?
So far they said it’s either my body rejecting it or embryos quality indeed…

actually just found out that my AMH is 18 not 10 😆 I did like 20-30 items of immunological tests, and the report is super long! Lots of antibodies & CD4/8 etc….. worth discussing with your clinic!

18 is really good for 40! Mine was 29 in 2021 and dropped to 15 in 2022 🤪
Will do! Thanks a lot for your help 🙏🏻🤍🌈

yes I follow the book “it starts with the egg” and have been taking all the recommended supplements, most importantly high dose of coq10 & vitamin d, and my husband takes them too! We sent 2 embryos to test and both came back absolutely normal 😊

We took all the Q10 too before starting IVF and then my clinic recommended to stop just before transfer as there is still not a lot of studies to take Q10 during pregnancy 🤷🏼♀️ are you still taking Q10? If not, when did you stop?

I stopped after egg retrieval actually and you’re right there is no need to take more as it only helps with egg quality! In natural cases I was told to take until positive pregnancy test but with ivf you can stop earlier (unless there is expectation that the next egg retrieval is within 3 months)

Mind if I ask why you don’t have your period? You’re still very young and can definitely afford to take a break to make sure your body recovers from all the ivf drugs!
Tbh I nearly died from the only fresh transfer I did (in my second ivf cycle) - my ovary ruptured due to ivf stims + pregnancy hormone and I lost 2.5 litres of blood (and the baby). Yet I was still so dying to do frozen transfer post my emergency surgery and ofc not surprisingly the 2 transfers afterwards both failed….
It taught me a lesson not to rush into this, even though I started ivf at 37 and it’s been 3 years!

what dose of DHEA did you take and how long did you take it for? I also took Nac, Alpha and melatonin and can’t help but worry maybe I took too many different vitamins for too long

I think listen to your body - DHEA was recommended to me a while ago and I took it before the first cycle only. It made my hair loss a lot worse and also I read that it’s mostly for women with low AMH. So I stopped taking it afterwards!
As for melatonin, NAC and Alpha I took for my second cycle and also felt that these were too much so I stopped afterwards.
For the 3rd cycle just pregnacare conception +omega3 +coq10 400+ d 1000iu and that’s it. My husband continues taking alpha and all of the above throughout. If in doubt you should also discuss with your consultant :)

my periods slowly stopped when I was taking the pill. Which I was told could happen. When I stopped taking the pill my periods never came back. I’ve been diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea. So if I stopped and want to restart again, I need to take another medication to have a withdrawal bleed…
I did only one round of STIM and actually it went much better than I thought. Despite retrieving 21 eggs, I haven’t had OHSS and was feeling really good. Sorry to hear you had such an horrible experience.
Also, my doctor said that your fertility window is much bigger after miscarriage/chemical pregnancy… that’s why I kept going after the 4th transfer as it was my first positive pregnancy test.

There is just so much guess work isn’t it? You are indeed lucky to have so many blastocysts & no issue with ohss! I wish you all the best with your next cycle, let’s stay positive and believe that your rainbow baby will arrive very soon xxx 😊

Thank you so much all the best for your pregnancy 🙏🏻🌈
