My baby just had his third set of immunisations today. I was advised by the GP to give him 3 doses of calpol every 4-6 hours. I gave him his first but he spat out some of it. What should I do? I’m such a mess! I don’t want to overdose him and I don’t want him to have a fever either!

Hi! My baby is the same with anything he sees with a syringe 🙈 I used to put his in the teat of one of his bottles and he would then suck it out or maybe try it in some of his milk?
Your probably not suppose to mix it but as long as he’s having it 🥰

Calpol after immunisations is just a precaution and not a necessity so just leave it 4 hours and try again with the next dose. Keep an eye on his temperature in the meantime

I'd give him another 1ml if he spat out loads.
We have to put it in a tiny bit at a time then push the dummy in to get her to swallow before giving any more, and, even still she sometimes manages to spit some out! Lol

Try to offer it on a spoon, sometimes they are more likely to take it.

If he uses a dummy give it him a bit at a time and keep putting the dummy in after. My little one used to hate Calpol and did the same, now he loves it sucks it out of the tube 😊

this is exactly what I do! My boy dribbles a lot out so I use the dummy trick!

Try give it to him and lightly blow on his face , he will swallow due to a automatic reaction from the wind x

My baby was the same so give it through a teat now and she takes it ☺️

Put in a teat :)

I had to give it to my little boy off a medicine spoon as he spat it out all the time.... I then changed to baby panadol which he took no bother and still at 4 he'll take panadol quicker than calpol
