Maternity Tens Machine Question…

So I am looking at getting a tens machine for labour but wondered if I need to get a maternity specific one or if I can just use a regular one?

I am a FTM and I got this one: Limited-time deal: AUVON Dual Channel TENS Machine for Pain Relief, TENS Unit Muscle Stimulator with 20 Modes, 2" and 2"x4" TENS Pads Replacement (Black) https://amzn.eu/d/gnvUhU3 I tried it and it seems fine to me.

I was told that anyone can use a maternity tens machine but you shouldn't use a normal one for labour if that makes sense x

I just got a regular one from Amazon 🤷🏻‍♀️ not used it yet but hoping to within next days. It does say not to be used by pregnant women but lots of reviews say people used it in labour

I’ve got the boots maternity one after recommendations from a few friends

I got the boots one x x

Got the Boots one too - on offer at the moment if you have an Advantage Card!

You can hire them xx

You can hire one. £18 for 6 weeks. Just google hire maternity TENS you cannot use a normal one

Maternity ones have bigger pads and a boost button for during contractions but otherwise they are exactly the same and do the same thing, so I can’t think of any reason why a standard one couldn’t be used during labour. I’ve got a “normal” one - my midwife recommended a TENS and never said anything about having to get a special maternity one! (Likewise the NHS website doesn’t say anything about labour-specific machines)
