Metanium nappy cream (the yellow cream)

We had to get creams prescribed for my eldest as metanium just didn’t cut it sometimes
Lots of nappy free time if you can will help too, and using water instead of wipes to clean :( poor sausage x

Make sure its a super thin layer. So many people put it on thick and it defeats the point of using it.

I didn’t think metanium helped when my daughter had it, I got weleda calendula nappy cream which I used when she was first born and that worked better

I used it with my eldest and worked wonders for her, so was hoping it would do the same this time. I’m not sure if it is helping but because she’s got an upset tummy and is pooing a lot that it’s making the nappy rash still look sore

My little one had a terrible sore bum, bleeding and raw, so I spoke to the pharmacist who recommended canesten which cleared it up straight away

Has the area become an open wound? If so, you'll need steroid cream from the doctor. The best time for it to work (Metanium) is on the last bum change of the day. Put that on and then Vaseline over the top. Makes such a difference. Unfortunately though, if Lily is pooing lots, it's going to take a long time to get rid of, so may be worth asking for steroid cream from the doctor. Ella had a bad case of diarrhoea for a few weeks like a few months back and her nappy rash was the worst it had ever been and I just wished she'd stop pooing, but she just wouldn't 😩 I cut out all dairy for a few days and that made all the difference and then her poo firmed up and gave the rash time to heal as firmer poo would never irritate like diarrhoea xx

Go to the pharmacy and ask for an anti fungal cream we’ve had to do that a couple of times

no it hasn’t luckily. She hasn’t poo’d since yesterday morning now so hoping that’s the end of that now and her rash can start to clear up, it’s gone down a lot since yesterday too so I think the metanium is working it was just her poo’s making it so sore again x

Do you think she’s teething or do you think she has a bug? My little boy is having runny 💩‘s I’m not sure if he’s teething - doesn’t have red cheeks though?

she only had it for 24hrs so I’m not sure if it was a bug or teething tbh. She was chewing a lot so could of been teething she didn’t have red cheeks though either but she also didn’t have any signs of being unwell either other than the 💩
