I'm a travel agent so my kids travel tons. Their longest flight so far was to Hawaii so far. Some airlines don't have screens in the back of the seats, so be prepared to have your own to watch their free movies/shows(Southwest and American airlines), Delta had screens. I get small toys from the dollar store and put them in pencil bags(small for space and light to haul around). Snacks, I use xl 14 day pill tray(let me know if you want the Amazon link for the one I use) to put a variety of snacks(cereal, pack of fruit snacks, smarties, pistachios, pretzels, gold fish, etc.) My girls love that it's always different stuff and enjoy opening and closing on their own. I love that if it spills, only lose that "day" spot and not a whole bento box tray. Boogie board is fun too.
@Jenny do you recommend we fly coach or should we get more leg room to help? I also saw flights with fewer stops and some with more, which one would be more beneficial with something like that?
Depends on the time they are at, like a red eye during normal sleeping hours can be longer than something during the day. Legroom, really I'd save the money to keep contained better with my kiddos. 😂
He’ll be 2-3 for the next trip which could be a world of a difference in how he adjusts to the longer travel. I love to bring my kids’ iPads/headphones for games/movies, playdoh, coloring books, their personal fave snacks, writing pads, and Rubik’s cube kinda Toys on flights to keep them occupied and entertained in btw naps on flights. Never have an issue.
