Best water wipes for newborn? Or cotton wool?

I’ve read a few different things but mainly people saying that wipes are fine to use from newborn as long as they’re water wipes - does this mean literally only using the water wipes brand? As I’ve seen some that are Huggies, pampers etc that are 99% water? Or am I best sticking to typical cotton wool? Really not sure what’s best 🙈

I’ve always used pampers newborn or any newborn friendly wipes for my children! Tbh I don’t like using cotton wool, it’s not as easy to use. Water wipes are quite expensive too! X

When you're at home you can just use a wet cloth but if you prefer wipes then any wipes which are 99% water will be fine. Doesn't have to be water wipes brand as they're quite expensive. Huggies are good ones.

I use Huggies 99% water

Either is fine, I used Tesco Fred and flo water wipes for my boy when he was born and they were very good. I think any brand is fine as long as they are water wipes x

With my LB I started with water wipes, everyone raves about them so it seemed like the logical choice. My LB had constant nappy rash with them so we switched to reusable wipes (we already had reusable nappies so it wasn’t a big deal for us) and we’ve had no issues since.

Second time mum, one thing I learned from my first is not to use wet wipes on newborn skin even the most expensive type ( water wipes) gave rashes. Newborn skin is very delicate and I am going to use large cotton pads designed for baby nappy cleaning. Even if it’s a hassle I am determined to use cotton till their skin matures a little. Out and about with baby, I will get some sensitive skin wipes. But also you can wash baby bum in the sink with lukewarm water.

If you still want to test wipes, put some heavy makeup on and try and wipe with baby wipes and check for yourself if it makes you irritated on the skin then don’t use it on baby.

We use the Huggies water wipes, never had a problem. We did however use cotton wool and water at the start, I think he was a couple of weeks when we just went straight to wipes. Completely up to you and your partner though x

Baby sleeps with his head turned mostly to one side ?

Little one is 4 months and I’ve noticed he has a favourite side to turn his head and it’s very slightly flatter than the other side due to him always facing that way, even when he’s awake he faces one way. He can turn his head both ways but even when carrying him he always looks left. I’ve even tried switching his position in the crib but he still prefers one side. and When he’s sleeping I gently move his head to the centre so he’s looking straight but he moves it back to one side after a while. He does suck his thumb on one hand so I guess it could be to do with that? I just don’t want him to have a wonky head or face bless him, has anyone had this ?
I might go to the GP

Can you overfeed a formula baby?

My 5 week old is eating 4oz every 2 hours on the dot! Is it possible that we are over feeding him? No he does not spit up often, he will fuss at the 2 hour mark (wake up from sleep as well) until he gets his bottle.
We offer the pacifier after feeding sometimes but I’m worried about offering the pacifier when he fusses incase I miss the hunger queues.

Would you make a birthday registry for your kids?

My 2 sons are having their 3rd and 4th birthday together. Everyone’s asking what to get them and last year I told 2 people the same thing. I don’t want to do that this year. But I don’t know if it’s rude to make a registry or if people would feel some type of way.

Breast milk storage

Has anybody used frozen breast milk for bottles after they’ve passed the 6 month storage time? I’ve seen conflicting opinions, but i really want to believe it still has some nutritional value…. I have about 100oz unused and I’d rather not use it for just baths 🥲

What is teamwork?

My SO took the frozen breastmilk out of the freezer and left it on top of the freezer for the second time.
I can’t articulate all of the feelings I have right now.
“It’s just a bit of breastmilk”
I just want to curl up and cry but I can’t, I have a wonderful little baby to care for.
