Perineal massage

Hi everyone!
Just wondering if any of you have started perineal massage and how you’re finding it?
I’m getting my fiancé to do it as I can’t really reach over my bump comfortably! Sorry to be tmi but we feel like we can’t get two of his fingers in at once and it’s more comfortable using one at a time!? Is anyone else experiencing the same thing!?
Any tips would be really appreciated as I want to give it our best shot! Whether it works or not it’s worth a try!!

I did a class the other day that said doing it one finger at a time is absolutely fine, you just do one side and then the other.
To be honest I found it super uncomfortable with my partner doing it so I have ordered one of the massage tools so I can do it myself, it hasn't arrived yet though.

My husband does it with only one finger because of the angles too. After a couple sessions he started feeling the difference and I was less tensioned. He is still using only one finger because it is more comfortable for him, just be sure that he is covering all sections and movements that need to be done.

I was taught to use just the thumb. Haven’t started yet because some say not before 34 or 36 weeks even

I bought a pelvic wand on Amazon today to do this as also couldn’t reach when I tried! https://amzn.eu/d/8fqctYZ

The midwife today recommended one thumb. Also getting partner to do it as I felt no progress after day 3 of doing it alone and the angle for doing it yourself is way harder

Do you find this massage a little painful? I really feel uncomfortable and it worries for THE day and that I will tear a lot 🥺

Yes its uncomfortable but only can hope it gets better with time. On mat leave now so will try several times a day and that should help. I used to have vaginismus and remember having to do this with the physio to cure it 🫣😄 but I didn't remember the name at the time
