Just wondering what was the reason you chose to formula feed baby straight away rather than breastfeeding

Unable to get baby to latch due to severe tongue-tie and high palate. No choice really but really nice that baby can bond with dad and we can share night feeds. I still pump but was never enough for baby's demand and when we started wanting to be out and about, started reducing pumping.

I had no interest in breast feeding or the thought of it personally

I just didn’t like breastfeeding. When he was born, the midwife tried to get my son to latch onto my nipple and in all honestly, I hated the feeling of it. I also didn’t want to have him attached to my breast a lot of the time, I wanted my husband to be able to pull his weight 50/50 with the feeds.
Personal choice 😊

It’s my first baby we are still combi feeding but time and time again my husband and I agree we wish we didn’t bother with BF and did formula from the beginning. You get to know how much they are taking have more control over schedules and it’s just more efficient that the 40 minutes plus BF sessions when he gets hungry within the hour

exactly like Sophie!

same here!

I never wanted to BF due to the many horror stories that I hear about how painful and stressful it can be. By bottle feeding it allows bonding for my partner and I can see how much my little one is feeding. The only con for me is sterilising bottles and the cost of formula. But I am very happy with formula feeding and wouldn’t have it any other way :))

I had an emergency c section and lost a ton of blood which negatively impacted my supply. My baby was also very small so the nurses fed her formula to get her weight up while we tried to establish my milk supply. We tried to switch to breast feeding but sometimes she loses her patience with it so we’re combi feeding. Not a choice made by us but by circumstance.

I didn't want to breastfeed, no interest in it

It’s just personal preference , I formula fed my first and I’ve breastfed with my second , both have their pros and cons just whatever makes you and baby happy 😊 xx

Because I wanted to
Breastfeeding didn't feel natural to me at all with my first so I didn't do it at all after attempting once
My second one I had an easier birth and was allowed home the next day so I 'breastfed' for 2 days in hospital to avoid feeding questions etc although I don't have a clue if she was getting enough or if I was doing it right but I wanted to get home sharpish. She had formula as soon as we were home and I never looked back 😂💀

Baby wouldn’t latch, didn’t have time to pump enough and look after baby

This is my second baby and my first was exclusively formula fed from 4 weeks.
After 3 days of the usual postpartum tiredness and discomfort my husband said to me, “I’ve seen you go through a lot to birth our two girls and you’re now tired and broken. Why would we want to add the stress of breastfeeding and latching into the mix?”
For us, it was so right. Trying to deal with a toddler and breastfeeding a baby was never going to be easy (kudos to anyone who does!) so why make life intentionally difficult?
I’m a better mum for formula feeding and, therefore, my girls are happier too 😊

This is the post I needed to read. Thank you for bringing it up and for other people to not judge our choice ❤️
