I was feeling slightly unwell yesterday but not overly unwell. I still bottle fed and held my baby, had contact naps etc. This morning I woke up feeling so so ill! I didn’t hold her, feed her and my husband took her downstairs whilst I stayed in bed.
Fast forward a few hours. My mum has come to collect her to look after her and I’ve taken a covid test which has come back positive!
My baby is almost 5 months. Showing no signs of covid or being unwell.
What are the chances that I’ve put her at risk or is there anything my mum needs to be looking out for?
I’m so so worried now!

Babies typically don’t get COVID severely so I would try not to worry too much. It’s likely she has it because you have probably been contagious for a couple of days, but she’ll most probably just have a mild cold. Just get your mum to watch out for a temperature and give her Calpol if needed. Feel better soon!
thank you! She’s been taking her temp and it’s all normal. She seems fine in herself but will keep an eye.

Firstly, I'm so sorry get well too xx now, don't worry. She has been breast fed her immunity will be built up from mommy! I landed up with covid when my boys were just under 2 months old. It was horrible not understanding it. But it turns out that even if they get it, they don't have symptoms. God works in mysterious ways xx 🙏
