My baby loves to chew on the sides of her carrier and it gets so gross and wet but I can deal with that, problem is its quite hard material and she gets little red Chelsea grin type lines across her face when she does, it must not hurt as she doesn't seem bothered or stop but it makes me feel bad, I just wondered if anyone had a child that does the same but carrier that doesn't leave marks? Picture so you know the type we are using, only brought as it was massively reduced and moneys a bit tight right now!

You can get strap covers that they can chew on instead of the actual carrier. They often are a soft, thick fabric, with Velcro that wraps around the area of the carrier or wrap that many babies chew on, and come in lots of different patterns out there. Maybe that would also provide a softer surface for her face when she leans against the edge, although I don't know for sure.

I know Lenny Lamb sells things like that, and they aren't the only brand that does. Some carriers come with them, too.

I have a baby Björn mini in the cotton fabric and it’s very soft. My LO chews on the side as well and I haven’t seen any marks as far as I’m aware. They are also machine washable

The marks are like sock marks. If they fade after a while and baby doesn't seem too bothered, it should be fine. As Emmons says Lenny Lamb does suck pads. Or Annie's accessories makes lovely suckpads and other carrier covers for cold times too
