Anyone else on blood thinners?

I am high risk for blood clotting due to having thoracic outlet syndrome (compression of artery and nerves in my left shoulder / neck). My consultant has put me on a blood thinner as of yesterday which I have to inject myself into my tummy once a day for the duration of my pregnancy and 6 weeks after. They said it’s the only one that dosent pass through the placenta to the baby. Very fun for me as I have a phobia of needles but managed to do it twice now without fainting 🫣 hoping it cures that phobia by time I’m done! Is this is a common thing in pregnancy? Would love to hear from anyone else who has had to take these.

My sil had to do this with 2 of her pregnancies. Not fun but it was necessary for her and her babies. I think you get used to it. I had to do them for 2 weeks pp when I had my son. Did they tell you to alternate sides so you don't get too bruised?

I had to do these for 7 months, I too hate needles. I got my partner to do it most of the time but also did it myself so I knew I could do it. Slow and straight was the best for me and alternating sides every day and places. I bruised so badly with them but that’s normal. It hurts a bit after that’s normal too. For me I still hate needles but that’s because I’ve had some time away. I also had to do two insulin injections a day at the same time as these blood thinners so it was triple whammy. You’ll be a pro in no time and won’t squirm or faint after a while. Good luck! And congrats on your pregnancy

I had this too as in my second pregnancy at around 9 weeks, I developed blood clots in my lungs. I had to have clexane injections for the rest of the pregnancy and for a few months after. Then I had them from when I first found out in my last pregnancy, all throughout and six weeks after. My husband did them for me as I have a phobia of needles. I never injected in my belly, it was always the fatty part of the tops of my arms and legs x

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. Finding it very challenging doing the injections. I am bruising quite badly with each one. Have moved to my thigh as my belly’s just too painful, I suffer with IBS so my tummy feels so stretched all the time there’s barely any fatty tissue to inject into. The stinging after each one is also next level. I’m sure will get easier but I suppose the anxiety around the needle makes it harder for me each time. Like my consultant said, it’s all to keep me and baby healthy so I’d do anything to do so. Thank you again ladies and hope you’re not struggling too much in this heatwave! Xx

Poop question

Hey mommas I’m a ftm and my babygirl hasn’t pooped in two days she’s formula feed and is 12 weeks old. I can tell she’s uncomfortable and I feel so bad. I’ve been doing belly rubs and bicycle kicks and all the things like that. Also gave her some gas drops and gripe water to relieve the gas but still no poop. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for me. Pic so we don’t get lost💕

Health Visitor Home Visit

Hii, could anyone explain what the health visitor does on their home visit?

Also if anyone had a home birth, what the midwife home risk assessment involves?

I’ve got 3 home visits coming up in the next two weeks (health visitor, midwives and doula) and it’s making me nervous for some reason. I think having 3 just feels like a lot and a bit invasive if that makes sense!

Who else is out there holding a baby thru the night so his noises dont wake up the house?!

I cant believe im still doing this at 15 months old!!!

My 2nd child is not just the noisiest sleeper but they have always been weird with breastfeeding

I think currently he is having some kinda developmental leap and growth spurt, eating and drinking like crazy and in the middle of the night if he wakes up , it takes ages to put back to sleep and he rolls around making sooooo much noise!!!

And i either have a low supply now OR he loves a fast flow and so he just jumps off the boob when it slows and complains loudly or just talks cutely but loudly! and i have to keep swapping boobs OR i have to get up and hold him and feed so gravity helps and the flow is faster and holding him means he eventually sleeps or at-least is feeding properly so is bloody quiet now! So at 1 am or 3am or often 5am onwards im holding n feeding until he wakes up 🥲🥲🥲

Any tips?

How’s everyone’s babies sleeping?

My little one is 19 weeks, she used to sleep through when we would put her to bed at around 10pm, she would sleep through until 6-7 am.
Now she gets so tired around 8 pm so we moved her bedtime here, but coming with this is 1-2 night feeds and she’ll be wide awake at 6 am, which I know is still amazing but I am currently as sick as a dog so hasn’t been the best for my flu 🤣.
I’m unsure whether this is the regression though as her naps are very scattered throughout the day with the max nap being 30 minutes through contact only.
Does this sound like the regression? When did your little one start sleeping through again if they ever did? Thanks in advance 🤗❤️

How are we entertaining our babies

What toys does everyone have for their 7 month old?
Nothing is satisfying my little girl she's got blocks, rattles, playmats loads more. She would much rather hold my hands and walk all day but I cant physically do that and whenever I put her down to play she just wont, is this just a faze?
