Help please

Hi ladies FT mum here , my little girl is 9 weeks Monday , could she be teething ? She’s dribbling loads , sucking on her arm / hands , red cheeks…?? I know (hand in mouth is a hungry que & also her learning what her hands are) but even after her bottle she’s doing it x

Im exactly the same 9 weeks and all the same things as you. I was wondering if it was teething to but seems so early !! X x

it does seem early doesn’t it? & if it isn’t that , I’m baffled to what it could be! I’m not even sure if they’re allowed teething rings at 9 weeks ? I’m just wondering is it worth to give my little girl calpol , but I don’t want to give her anything without knowing exactly what it is , as it’s just medicating her for no reason otherwise , not sure what to suggest tbh x

Hi, I’m in the same boat. I raised this with the doctor at my eight week check up. She said it’s more them self- soothing than hunger ( if they have been fed) or teething at this age.

I think it is a more developmental thing than a teething thing. I also have a 9 week old and he is doing the same, excess drooling, eating hands but he isn’t in any discomfort and usually seems quite satisfied with it when he is doing it. I initially thought he was just starting to find his hands but I have seen on here it’s a normal development thing and the drooling is their body getting ready for solids but I’m not sure how accurate that is imo

It could be developmental but definitely could be teething too. My previous children all got their first tooth from 11 weeks - 14 weeks and this is exactly how they were x

It's just like the beginning of the teething stage my son use to have his shorts drenched in drool.

Her saliva glands are now producing saliva when before they wouldn't be producing overly much xx

just thought I’d let you know that they do 0+ month teething fishys in Superdrug, they’re ones that you can put in the freezer but you don’t have to freeze them if you don’t want to but I hope this helps x
