Jaundice 🥺
I had my baby 8/17 and was told he had jaundice day 2 or 3 so we put him under the lights for phototherapy and his bilirubin levels very slowly went down after 3 days. Finally we got discharged and took him home for a couple of days but he slowly started to grow more and more yellow so we took him back in — bilirubin levels skyrocketed so we readmitted him. Did phototherapy for 3 days got discharged went home for 2 days then readmitted for another 3 day. We’ve been home for 2 nights now we’re headed back to the hospital and will inevitably be readmitted. I’m exhausted and really want to just cry at this point. The doctors were saying that it’s extremely rare to be readmitted for a second time and this is readmission number 4.
Anyone else have a similar experience with jaundice??

My daughter had jaundice her level was extremely low I had to sch a appt with her doctor the next day just to make sure her levels stayed low. Praying for you 🙏🏽

Is she getting light when you guys are at home? We had some jaundice issues and keep in him the window and in the shade outside a lot
Yes just start getting some color to her. I take her outside just so the sun while hit her
That’s exactly what happened to us to the T her levels were over 19 born 8/7. Two days ago got tested again she’s at a 14 they said it’s trying to level down. Now they are saying it’s my breast milk called jaundice BM and it’s real. So just been laying her in the sun and taking her out as much as we can
My baby had jaundice but it was very slight. Make sure when your home to take him outside in the sun for about 5 minutes at a time between 70 to 80 degrees it desolves it vitamin D make sure he’s in nothing but a nappy and his skin is in the sun
a whole month 🥺 I’m so sorry you’ve been going through this for so long! So did you have to stop breastfeeding completely or are you supplementing with formula?

yeah we’ve been going on walks and sitting him out in the sun — nothing really seems to be as effective as phototherapy.
