i’m hopefully just overthinking but im 39 weeks on tuesday and last night i noticed my fingers had swollen as i struggled taking my rings off but i had just come out of a warm bath so put it down to that , but it doesn’t usually happen. and this morning iv noticed my feet are quite swollen , i’ve not had this before in this pregnancy or my last so am just wondering if anyone thinks i should go get it checked or if it’s normal ? i know swelling in pregnancy is normal but i think it’s quite strange as i haven’t done anything today i have barely even moved off the sofa.. i also had a trace of protein in my urine at my MW appt. on thursday but they said it’s nothing to worry about as it’s just a trace but putting them both together is stressing me out 🙈

I've been worried about pre-eclampsia and have spoken to my midwife a fair bit. She always says that pre-eclampsia swelling is very sudden and if you was to look in the mirror you'd find it hard to recognise yourself. She also advised me to get a home blood pressure machine which has helped to keep my anxiety down. If you are really worried give them a call and see what advice they give you.
I've also had a bit of protein in my last midwife appointment but they also said it was nothing to worry about as blood pressure was okay, she told me for it to be pre-eclampsia you have to have a high blood pressure whereas you can have protein and swelling and it not be related
Hope that helps, and I haven't rambled too much haha

I have not noticed hand swelling but I have noticed slight ankle swelling that comes and goes depending on how much water I drink and how much I walk around. I am 39 weeks on Tuesday. I think at this point a little swelling is normal, as long as it’s not like super severe and only in one place (one leg not the other or the face). But if you are worried it never hurts to call triage 🥰

I think it's the heat, my fingers and feet started to swell last week too (I'm now 40 + 3) but ice packs and elevation helps.
I've actually developed carpal tunnel in my left hand cos of the swelling haha but I told my midwife yesterday and she said all normal this late in pregnancy

you’re right about that
I remember seeing my friend on the Sunday and thinking “Jesus Christ what’s going on with her…”
She was so swollen and didn’t even look herself
2 days later went into labour and also had pre-eclampsia but she thought it was excess fluid that made her puff up!
Bearing in mind I had only seen her 2 days beforehand as well and she had ballooned up in those 2 days 😅
