Flight with baby need advise!! Airport/overhead stoller

I’m going to travel this weekend to see a dying relative. She asked to hold my baby before she passes away (cancer). I have never brought him in a plane. Any advise is helpful!!!! Worried about keep him entertained on a 6 hour flight and I need to buy a stroller that we can pop in the overhead compartment. Also, anyone bring their car seat on the flight? Any airlines to avoid 😬

Avoid flying Norse Atlantic with a baby. Where are you traveling to? How old is your baby? You don't need a stroller that fits overhead because you can't use it on the flight anyway. Any stroller will work and then you just gate check it- -literally you push it all the way up to where you board the plane and then hand it over to the baggage handlers and then at your destination it will be waiting for you when you step off the plane. Just let them know your intentions to gate check when you arrive so they can give you a gate check tag. You can check the carseat (almost always for free - but check with the airline) and pick it up at baggage claim when you arrive. You can also use the carseat on the plane if its FAA certified. But if you use a carseat your baby will need its own seat and you will obviously have to pay for that. If they are under 2 they can ride for free on your lap.

One of the best tips I can give is to have them suck on something during take-off and landing- this helps to protect their ears. You could breastfeed, offer a bottle or straw cup. If they are over 6m bring lots of snacks. A few of their favorite books and a few small toys. I also like to bring a new small toy or book that they have never seen. Most airlines give a free diaper bag and you can fit a lot in there. Which is great because most airlines charge for carry ons.

@Bee Phx to New Jersey like a 5 hour trip (I plan to fly direct) and he is just over a year. They won’t damage the stroller right? 😬

I also really love the indestructable books for travel. They are super lightweight and almost Indestructable.... plus you can throw them in the washing machine when you get home to get rid of all of those travel germs haha

Thank you!!!!!!

•Freeze baby pouches/ yogurt pouches • snacks (melties, veggie sticks) • small books • busy book 👏🏽👏🏽 lifesaver! I can post link of the one we have! Also, don’t forget to have them change their gloves before going checking/through your diaper bag!

@Carolina Alcalá yuck I didn’t even think about the glove change! Thank you!!

Bought the Cosatto Whoosh 3 for our first travel with my 7 months old son. It was a great hit and we were able to put it in the overhead locker with Aer Lingus. It folds down easily and is quite compact. We were able to put the baby in the stroller going to the baggage claim, very handy!

I used a sliver cross clic, fits in over head. Took lots of snacks and mess free painting x
