Covid

Anyone had Covid since having their LO?
I’ve had a positive test and I’m so worried I’ll give it to my little boy.

Yes I had it last week and my baby had it. We were both severely unwell 🥺 both still testing positive but actually coming out the other side now 🙏🏻 I took him to the doctors twice, and had to ring an ambulance once but the paramedics stayed with us a few hours at home and made sure he was ok so he didn’t need hospital care thank god! It was horrible x

Oh god thanks awful! I’m glad you’re both starting to feel better. Any signs to look out for with the baby? Xx

Covid here too. My boy had a high temperature that wouldn’t really come down the Calpol, was very unsettled and vomited. We took him to a & e as per 111 advice. They didn’t test him as presumed he had it as I do and said Calpol, extra hugs, sleep and expect reduced feeding. Yesterday he slept most of the day on me, seemed so sad and unwell, and hardly drank. Today he was so much better already, so hopefully it was quick. I hope you are both not too unwell with it.

Thank you ☺️ well it started off I thought he was struggling with his teeth because his cheeks were flushed and he had a runny nose. He was mega clingy and whiny, he spent the whole day on my lap snuggled in and I was giving him calpol and nurofen. It wasn’t until the next day when I had a bad chest that I did a test and realised so tested him and his line was more positive that mine and he’d really vamped up then! He was just constantly crying, rubbing his face, coughing, breath was raspy, sweaty, really high temperature, mottly skin, vomiting, diarrhoea. He was just generally really unwell 🥺 sleeping a LOT as well, he’d gone down to 1 nap a day before it and he’s sleeping constantly now, he had three 3 hour naps yesterday, just wiped out he is xx

We’ve just had it. I was absolutely floored and she was groggy for a night and then fine. Gave her one dose of paracetamol because she wouldn’t settle and then was grand 😅. I think the breastfeeding helped a lot!

My partner and I caught it in the hospital when I gave birth 🙃 & our little one caught it too, we ended up rushing her to urgent care at 6 days old because she was lethargic, not eating much & her temperature had dropped to below 35. She was only tiny too, 4lb10 so we were terrified. She had a load of blood tests & a lumbar puncture, we were in for a couple of days & as soon as she tested positive for covid they let us go home right away. They said as soon as we got there covid was the best case scenario as little ones deal really well with it. I know my story sounds a little scary but obviously with her being a tiny newborn they were super vigilant & wanted to check for everything - and then once the positive covid test came back they weren’t worried whatsoever. Just keep a close eye on him, lots of cuddles & rest, don’t be afraid to call 111 if you’re concerned even for just a bit of peace of mind. Hope you feel better soon!!
