Moms of di/di twins of the same sex, did your NIPT results still read as a percentage? Confused because they just called me with results and said “it’s only showing up as boy, so I’m assuming it’s two boys, but it didn’t give me a percentage.” Wondering if they accidentally forgot to specify it’s twins or if it just doesn’t give a percentage for same sex fraternal twins? 😅

I was in a similar situation. My OB did not specify I was having twins when I got my blood drawn so it just came back as "female". I assumed there were just no Y chromosomes detected and therefore having two girls but if yours came back as a boy, I think that could mean you're either having one of each or two boys. I believe it just means there was "male" DNA detected
ahh that’s kind of what I’m thinking happened. The nurse sounded so confused. She said “usually with twins we see a percentage” 😬 really hoping it’s one of each, but I guess I’ll have to wait for a gender scan to confirm now 😆 I had done sneak peek before I knew it was twins so I already knew it was one boy. either way I’m happy all of the other things they check for came back neg/low risk!!
You could try getting a second NIPT, my second one was covered by insurance because the first one wasn't drawn "correctly." You'll probably still want to know the risk of other genetic conditions for each of your babies? We ended up also doing the sneak peek 🫣
My NIPT told me my di/di twins were identical boys! It specified for me.
I assumed since the genetic testing all came back negative that applied to both babies 😬 I’ll have to call and ask about it.
that’s so cool! Omg. I really think it got sent in as a singleton pregnancy.
@Hannah , I think it most likely does but your insurance might still cover a second one!
