Mat leave

I would like to know if a single mother gets any benefits (Ontario). I understand there is mat leave , and subsidies but is there anything else. I just realize you only get 55% of your pay on mat leave . That’s not a lot .

Hey aside from Maternity Leave (EI), you can apply for Canada Child tax benefit. It’s paid monthly usually on the 20th.

And for Mat leave just remember it’s 55%only if you are taking the 12 months. 33% if you are taking 18months. And it’s taxed on top of it

Some employers offer a top up on that 55% as well, be sure to look for that. My employer tops me up to 92% for about 8/9 months, my previous employer was 80
