Baby with a cold
Hi
After just a week at daycare (first time) My 1y old baby is sick starting with runny then very stuffed nose and coughing a bit now. I thought it was just a cold but she now have very soft/runny poop and she doesn’t eat much. It’s been 6/7 days now.
I’ve been cleaning up her nose with saline and apply a baby balm (for cold) on her chest.
Now there’s a small crack😥 on the nose (the jonction) due to wiping the snot (I’m very gentle and put some lotion on it after every cleaning).
I thought we reached the peak of the cold but she’s still very stuffed after every sleep.
I booked an appointment with the dr but looking for any advice or comforting word?
Does it usually take a long time the first time they get sick like this?

I can't answer on how long it takes to get over it but I literally could have wrote this ! By day 4 we got a call to pick him up. Looked like he was on the mend and back a day and a half and just as bad 😩 have drs appointment today im hoping its nothing or we can get something stronger to help. I have a humidifier in the room with the vicks tabs it helps with the breathing and its great in winter when its very dry. Make little popsicles from her favourite fruit pouch it will help their little throats and if theres a fever help bring her core temperature down. Mine is currently passed out in my arms as i work as he refuses to be put down and has been up since 4:30 on and off crying 😴
