Has anybody left baby with a stranger(baby sitter)?

My husband and I want a date night, but nobody in my family can watch my baby. We will be coming home a lil late. But I’m just curious if it’s too much to leave him with a sitter? If you have done it before, how was your experience?

Same issue! We don't really know anyone where we live, and don't want a complete stranger watching the kids. We've been thinking of joining the local community Church to get to know more people near us.

She has only ever stayed with my sister in law for a few hours here and there. I am thinking of branching out though, a girl I used to babysit is now a teenager and is great with my daughter, I am thinking of having her come over and entertain the baby while I clean but I haven't done that just yet.
