My baby boy is 15 weeks and for a few weeks has enjoyed being held in a sitting position. It looks like he’s getting close to being able to sit up supported (for example by the breastfeeding pillow) without our help.
Lately we’ve been holding him in a ‘standing’ position and he’s doing surprisingly well at holding his weight and balance, and he absolutely loves it too. It feels like we hardly have to support him (but of course we always do).
Isn’t this way too early for him to be able to do that, or are there other babies out there who enjoy being held in a standing position?
Also, apparently it’s been debunked that doing this will give babies bow legs, and that on the contrary it’s good to do this a few minutes a day.

Mine is 17 weeks and the same. He can sit up supported and he loves standing!

my girl just turned 15 weeks yday and has been the same as yours for the last week or so. i saw a health visitor today and asked her about it and she confirmed that babies won’t get bow legs. she also said my girl is ahead of herself and she expects her to be an early crawler too which is normal. babies have their own timings. it sounds like yours and mine are just a pair who really want to do everything they possibly can as soon as they can lol 😂 i wouldn’t worry about it 😊

yes, since early on my baby has not wanted to wait until he was the ‘right age’… he lost his umbilical cord on day 3 and ever since he’s been doing things before he’s supposed to! 😂

My boy has been “standing” since he was about 6 weeks old. He’s now strong enough to stand for ages without any help but obviously needs us to balance him 😂. I asked hv as was worried about hurting his development but he just loves it! There’s other stuff he’s not interested in at all, I.e rolling over, but sitting and standing he’s well happy doing

Honestly my girl is 17 weeks now and for the past 4 weeks has been so strong on her legs, loves standing on us or on the floor while we hold her, only for a little while so not to stress her legs but she loves it, and the sitting she looks so happy and she managed today to sit for about 10 seconds unsupported before rolling over 🤣 I like to sit her between my legs on the floor and have her toys out infront of her she will lean forward and grab them

Same. I know it's bad but I have let go of my daughter whilst standing (ready to catch her amd surrounded by cushions) and she stood for a moment. She is too nosey to lay down apart from nap time and sits unaided for short periods. My eldest was the same and was a very early walker but late talker. I think babies are quick at one or the other

My baby is 14 weeks and exactly the same. Has been for weeks. When she's in her bouncer she lifts her head forward to pull her self to sit up by herself 😬😬

My baby still has a wobbly head but absolutely loves to sit up supported and stand up, it’s a real battle sometimes as he gets so frustrated that he can’t do it all on his own lol.

I got a notification that you’d replied but your reply is nowhere to be found! Strange..

that is strange..if i remember right i think i was just saying my girl lost her umbilical off the same day and was doing the same as your boy, doing things her way on her own terms lol
