I’ve seen on other peoples posts they’ve just put their baby in a nappy and then had a Muslin as a blanket over them and then just checking their temperature now and then. And also waking them up to feed if they don’t wake themselves up crying for it

We had the health visitor visit earlier this week and she said regardless of environmental temperature, those first 2/3 days baby should be wrapped up in blanket and hat!!

who ever the health visitor was she is completely wrong any healthy baby who is able to maintain their own body temp (they wouldn't be home if they couldn't) should not be wearing a hat in his heat or wrapped up my twins are 4.5lbs and 5lbs and Iv got them in a vest with a light muslin on top 👍

no baby at home should be wearing a hat indoors, and absolutely never in this heat. They can’t cool down to regulate their body temp with a hat on, and could very easily over heat.

My health visitor said a nappy will be fine for tonight or even a vest xx

No to a hat in the house- especially in this heat! I’m very shocked a health visitor advised this 😱

We’ve been in hospital the last few days, my baby is 7 days old. Anyway I asked the baby doctors what to dress her in tonight and they suggested a short sleeve vest and a light weight swaddle (like a Muslim sick blanket)
They said as it’s a baby it’s likely to change temperature throughout the evening as they can’t regulate their temperature like we can, so to check on baby regularly. They said to feel under babies belly button to see how hot / cold they are and to ignore the temperature of their feet and hands etc xx

Never have a baby wear a hat especially at night while they sleep and in this heat! And never a blanket 🤦🏻♀️

I would make sure that when you measure temperature, you measure your home temperature not the generalized area temperature. In my house it’s always slightly colder by 3-5 degrees than the outside temperature
