Hi ladies, looking for some advice. I have severe anxiety and so during this pregnancy I have been using an at home Doppler a few times a week just to check in on baby. I’m 16 weeks 1 day today. I have started to feel baby move and so I feel a lot more relaxed and don’t feel the need to use it so often. I’m now worried that my regular use of the Doppler has damaged babies hearing development but I never occurred to me before as I read they are safe to use. Anyone had experiences with at home Dopplers before? Please be kind and if you have anything negative to say please just scroll past this post. Thank you.

You won't have done any damage please don't worry 💕 they're discouraged because they can cause more anxiety if you struggle to find the heartbeat, and because of the risk of mums using them for reassurance when they've had reduced movements for example rather than actually going and getting checked out.
There's no evidence that they can harm baby, there just haven't been any long term studies carried out on them. I think once every other day is considered incredibly low risk x
thank you so much for commenting and for your kind words! This is extremely useful and has really helped me to relax about it all! I hope you have a lovely day x
