Potty training day 1.

Hey mamas! So my son is 2 yrs and 4 months. He started telling us he needs to “poopy” a while ago so me and my husband decided to give potty training a try today and he started squatting and saying poopy and that’s when my husband took him to the toilet. We have a toilet seat for him on top of the toilet and he started screaming and got off and decided to squat and poop on the floor 😂. Is he still too young? Should I wait two more months?

It might be easier to introduce first potty for the poop. It’s similar position to squatting.

@Marta thank you!

I’ll send the method I used for my son, worked great! But it’s a process so don’t take one instance as how it will be the whole time. https://open.spotify.com/episode/43yA2Bjbsi8txKl9bvTFbZ?si=GsN9ByltRHKeu4adfBCGNQ

@Grace how old was your son when you started

@Aliyah hey, my son was 15 months and by 20 months he was potty trained, with occasional accidents but it was a slow progression towards that. But the instantaneous result we had was my son was much happier not having to be wiped or lay down to get a diaper change. That was the big thing by for us since he would throw such a fit during diaper changes, got real messy 😳
