Aspirin when to stop?
Hey! So I’m 36 weeks today, I had an appointment with one of the doctors I was 35 +6 (review of growth scan) and I mentioned I was on aspirin and had ran out of original ones they gave me and was planning to buy them over the counter was that something I could do and He said yes but I keep seeing online that it’s to be stopped at 36 weeks? So now I’m confused 😅 don’t want to not take it when I should but equally don’t want to continue taking if I shouldn’t! My midwife is on holiday too so I can’t ask her either my next appointment with the doctors is at 38weeks anyone been told to carry on taking it? Or stop at 36 weeks?

I have been told to take it up until 36 weeks - it might be worth calling your maternity helpline/triage to confirm if you have that service available to you x
Yeah I was prescribed it up until 36 weeks, if in doubt ask your midwife but I would stop until you do 👍 it's likely just to do with going into labour that they stop it as it's a blood thinner, you don't want it in your system
Thank you both I think I will do that stop taking it and get advice I do have a triage service just wasn’t sure if they wouldn’t like me calling just for that but with my midwife off I don’t have anything else! Will give them a call tomorrow ☺️xx
I've been told to stop now at 35 weeks, I'm delivering at 37 weeks
I would speak to your healthcare provider as everyone is different. My midwife told me to stop taking mine when I am in labour and then my consultant told me to stop taking it at 36 weeks 🙃 haha! Apparently there are two guidelines so it depends which one your trust/healthcare provider follows x
I was told to take it up to the end of pregnancy
I asked my midwife if you stop on the day you turn 36 or when you are 36+6 and she said the day you turn 36, so stop now :)
