Is anyone else giving there baby water yet? Seems daft your not meant to till 6 months. Especially in this heat.

Its due to water intoxication, I was told with my son can offer 1oz of cooled boiled water, I know ebf babies are not allowed water

If you're breastfeeding then your milk will adapt in the heat and provide the hydration your baby needs. Just offer feeds more regularly.

It's not daft their kidneys are immature until 6 months and water can cause fatal side effects. The closer to 6 months they are in the heat they can have 1oz over the whole day of cooled boiled water and that's it and recommended a few sips at a time

That’s why I love this group. Thank you for the info didn’t know this I’ve heard loads of people giving water at this age and so confused as to why it’s a no.
But she is breastfed so hopefully she’s getting the hydration required
