Very popular post in the UK at the moment while we’re riding a huge heatwave. It was 29 degrees in my room last night. I had the air cooler on but it was still quite hot and yet, baby still insisted on contact sleeping. I had to literally peel him off me to change position at times.
He was only wearing his diaper last night. What did every one else do to keep the temperature down or to cope with the heat?
I’m just not sure what to do tonight as it probably will be very hot again!

I had to purchase a huge air con unit. I’m too paranoid about baby over heating x

Babies in Egypt have 50 degrees Celsius in summer and cope, obviously you can do your best to help, but don't worry too much about it.

Nice cool bath before bed 😊

if my baby (or I) had to sleep in 50 degree heat I’d be worried

Bought an AC unit for the bedroom when I was pregnant. Best investment ever as I knew it would help a tonne once baby arrives

@Nastasya yes but we don't have AC here

Thank you everyone for the great tips. I’m considering an AC unit too for next summer. And will closed windows and curtains to make sure the heat doesn’t get in. And I always give him a bath before bed but maybe I should make the water a bit cooler.

I know there are hotter countries. My parents are from Cambodia where it’s 40 degrees easy. But I feel that babies born in a cooler country isn’t used to that kind of heat and houses as mentioned aren’t prepared for that kind of heat so I’m a bit more worried. But thanks for your comment. It’s always nice to have a different perspective!
